Theme Letter

Dear Participants,

We welcome you to the BILSEM-MUN 2026! In this year, we have decided to choose our conference theme to be Avatar and its trilogy. We believe this theme is very suitable for the purpose of the Model United Nations conference due to the various themes raised in this movie universe.

First of all, the importance of environmental protection, respect to culture, peace and cooperation among peoples are shown in this movie universe. For instance, the consequences of the human’s greediness, industrialization and the conflicts arising from the competition over natural resources can be seen on Pandora. On the other hand, the power of unity, diplomacy and understanding among peoples of various backgrounds are emphasized in the movies. Moreover, the topics addressed in this universe coincide with the objectives of Model United Nations conferences which are solving international problems by diplomatic means.

Secondly, the trilogy motivates young individuals to think about humanity’s place in nature and the technological development. We are convinced that the future progress should not come with compromising the ethics, sustainability or human values. The delegates of the BILSEM-MUN will be inspired by the courage, leadership and perseverance of the characters in the movies.

This theme is intended by BILSEM-MUN to be the basis for an unparalleled event where creativity, global perspective, and constructive discussion come together. We eagerly await your participation at our conference where imagination and diplomacy meet.
