GALACTIC SENATE: DISCUSSING THE REGULATIONS AND BANS TO BE PLACED ON THE TRADE FEDERATION AND THE EFFECTS ON GALACTIC PEACE

The Galactic Senate is the supreme legislative body of the Galactic Republic, drawn from the senators of countless star systems and convened beneath the great rotunda of Coruscant. As the chamber where the Republic’s laws are made, its treaties ratified, and its wars debated, the Senate is a fictional analogue to the great parliamentary assemblies of our own world — and at BILSEM-MUN 2026 it serves as a Special Committee for delegates who relish a richer narrative canvas.

Senators will represent star systems, trade federations, and sector alliances, each carrying mandates shaped by the particular interests of their constituents. Crises within the chamber will demand the same competencies as any historical assembly: command of procedure, the ability to read a room, the discipline to negotiate even when the stakes feel theatrical. The fictional setting does not loosen the standard of diplomacy — it sharpens it.
